Notes for this person
Don was a 1949 graduate of Chippewa High School and served in the Army Corps of Engineers during the Korean Conflict. He married Lois Jane Biehl in Urbana, Indiana on November 27, 1953. He was a lifelong farmer. Don was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, where he was a former deacon, elder, treasurer, and member of the building committee. Don was active in the community serving on the Beacon Credit Union Board of Directors 1991-2009, the Wabash County Fair Board for many years, Wabash Board of Zoning Appeals 1993-2016, Federal Land Bank Board of Directors, member of Dairy Herd Improvement Association, and a former Lagro Lions Club member. He loved the time he spent with his wife of 65 years working on and enjoying the farm and the trips they took. He was proud of his children and their accomplishments. He and his sons spent many years farming together. He delighted in the antics of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attended many of their events. Don had a fondness for his antique Farmall tractors and Model A Ford. He enjoyed his morning coffee time with the regulars at Bozarth's Country Store discussing the problems of the world and gently harassing each other. He will be greatly missed by his family. He is survived by his wife, Lois Jane Roser of Wabash, four children, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, brother and sisters, Betty McKillip, Peggy Riggs, Mary Alice (Fred) Reed, Marcella (Tom) Houlihan, Shirley Atkinson, and Carolyn (Don) Everest, all of Wabash, and Robert Roser of Lebanon, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Ethan Brown, three brothers and six sisters.
