Illinois 1ST LT, 50 Tac ALFT SQ, Air Force Vietnam Lt. Boehringer was one of six killed when their Lockheed C-130E Hercules (62-1805) ditched and sank after an undercarriage explosion during military training at Makung AFB in Taiwan. They are not included on the Vietnam Memorial because they died during training in a different Asian country. Lt. Boehringer was with Major Delbert Lockwood, Capt Roger Olson, Capt Donaki Zartner, SSgt Raymond Lewis and Sgt Walter Warner. Lt. Boehringer is represented on the Remembrance Rug by symbol #5695.
