Notes for this person

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Margot Marie Leach on Sunday, November 27, 2022. Margot was fifty years old. Margot was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Christian and Andora Kunzler of Lancaster, PA, and paternal grandparents Clark (Russell) and Jean Leach of Reading, PA. Margot is survived by her loving parents [name omitted] and Margaret (Margie) Leach; her brother [name omitted] and his wife [name omitted]; nephew [name omitted]; and nieces [names omitted]. Margot is also survived by many beloved extended family members. Margot was beautiful inside and out and a loving soul. Born February 9, 1972, in Maisieres, Belgium, at the SHAPE Headquarters where her father was stationed as an Army physician. Margot's baby blue eyes and blonde hair were outshined only by her sweet disposition. The family returned stateside in 1974 and settled in Erie, PA. As a young girl, Margot took ballet and piano lessons and enjoyed creating and performing back porch performances with her neighborhood girlfriends. Renditions of Grease songs with choreographed dancing was a common theme. The family relocated to Houston in 1982 where she continued in the ballet, performing in the Nutcracker with the Houston Ballet during Christmas for several years, and began horseback riding. She graduated High School from St. Agnes Academy, Houston, TX, in 1990 and pursued higher education at Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL, graduating in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism. Her first job was with the Mobile Register newspaper as a sales representative. Margot loved Mobile, her time at Spring Hill, her college friends, and their post-graduate European backpacking adventure. Margot returned to Houston in 1999 to be closer to family and friends. She soon began a career in orthopedic sales helping patients recover from joint surgery. Margot enjoyed cycling and participated in the MS150 each spring for several years. She hosted her cycling team with great anticipation and joy. She was always eager to bake, play games, take nature hikes and even dress up for themed birthday parties. Margot dearly loved her nephew and nieces, they will dearly miss their sweet silly fun-loving Aunt. Margot also adored her many feline family members over the years, Cleo, Lilly, and Bella. Margot recently resided in Austin, TX, but returned to Houston a year ago to help support and care for her parents; especially her mother Margie who suffers from Alzheimer's. Margot left us too soon. Prayers for the eternal rest of her soul. Visitation with the family will be Friday, December 9, 2022 from 1:00 pm until 1:30 pm with Margot's Funeral Mass following at 1:30 pm in the chapel at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 625 Nottingham Oaks Trail, Houston, TX, 77079. Interment will follow the Mass at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX, 77079.
