Arlene Marie ZAHN

Arlene Marie Murphy, 80, of Springfield, IL and Rio Hoado, TX, died Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at 8pm at St. John’s Hospice. She was born to and preceeded in death by Hugo and Rosina Zahn in McGregor, IA on June 29, 1927. She married Russell Easton and he preceeded her in death. She married Charles W. Murphy in 1961. Survivors include her husband, Charles, daughter Carolin Easton Faulkner of Springfield and Marilyn (husband Eric) Huckaby of Pawnee and son Charles Thomas (wife Cathy) Murphy of Springfield. She is also survived by her brother Hugo (wife Lois) Zahn of Rochester; grandchildren Ashley, Nicholas (wife Beth), Jacob (wife Lindsey), Robin (husband Billy), and Eric; great grandchildren Emma Rose and Harrison James, Emily and Madelyn and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and her little dog, Misty. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church; retired from Sears and was an avid Cubs fan. Visitation will be Sunday, July 29, 2007 from 4-6pm at Staab Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be Monday, July 30, 2007 at 10am at Blessed Sacrament Church with the Reverend David Hoefler officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
