Vernon Fleming KIPPS

Daily News-Record, Harrisonburg, Virginia, Wednesday, March 9, 1994: Vernon Fleming Kipps, 80, of Timberville died March 8, 1994, at the Life Care Center in New Market. Mr. Kipps was born Oct. 15, 1913, in Timberville and was the son of the late John Henry and Carrie Fleming Kipps. He owned and operated Kipps Cities Service in Broadway. He was a member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council and was communion assistant. On March 12, 1941, he married the former Edith Zirkle, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Wayne V. Kipps of New Market; a brother, Linden A. Kipps of Timberville; and two grandchildren. The Rev. Jeffrey Sonafelt will conduct a memorial service at 11 a.m. Friday at Mount Zion Lutheran Church. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. Thursday at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway or at the Kipps home at any time.
