Zerkle, Maxine Age 79 of Tremont City, went to be with the Lord on August 6, 2009. Maxine died with her family at her side after several months of illness. She was born on October 20,1929 in Bainbridge, Oh, the daughter of the late Clarence and Clara (McNeal) Knisley. She was married to Zane E. Zerkle, October 4, 1947, and they were married for 28 years until his death in 1975. Also preceding her in death were sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty & Kenneth Ingerman and Martha and Daniel Fjnch, brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Leora Knisley daughter-in-law Kay Zerkle. Survivors include two sons arid daughter-in-law. three daughters and sons-in-law. Sister, Springfield. 23 grandchildren. 40 great-grandchildren. two great-great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews. Special neighbors and friends. Maxine was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family very much and always showed concern for others. Her keen sense of humor was a joy to all who knew and loved her. She enjoyed the outdoors and especially sitting on her front porch. She will be greatly missed by family & friends. Graveside services will be held at Terre Haute Cemetery, Monday, August 10, at 3:00 p.m. A celebration of life honoring Maxine will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2009, at her residence from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Family & friends are invited to attend. Memorial contributions may be made to TAC Industries, Special Olympics or Tremont United Methodist Church.
