Dorothy Elouise ZIRKLE

Dorothy Zirkle Edgell, 90, of Clarksburg passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the Clarksburg Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born March 11, 1925 in Owings, a daughter of the late Ray Onzil and Mollie Mae Teets Zirkle. On April 28, 1944 she married Ira Edgell who died on August 23, 1982. She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Margaret "Bunny" Zirkle; and Clara Paugh; nieces and nephews, Betty Lou Zirkle Carpenter; Barbara Thomas Elutrio; Linda Thomas Bennett; Pamela Zirkle; Timothy Ray Zirkle; Susan Zirkle Bailey; Nancy Zirkle Efaw; Charles "Butch" Zirkle; and Susan Zirkle; as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Dorothy was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Wilma Thomas, and her brothers, Donald Lee; Hollis; Clifford; Emerson; Denver; and Oren Zirkle; and her nephew, Kevin Bruce "Chip" Zirkle. Dorothy was a member of the Peora United Methodist Church as well as the Shinnston Senior Citizens. Over the last several years she has resided at Koupal Towers in Clarksburg. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and working jig-saw puzzles. Friends will be received at the Harmer Funeral Home, 300 Pike St. Shinnston on Sunday from 3-5 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, December 7th at 10:00 AM with Pastor Harry Holbert officiating. Interment will follow at the Friendship Cemetery near Woodsfield, OH.
