Notes for this person
Adam and his youngest brother, Ludwig, emigrated with their families to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 1830. In 1834 they moved on, floating down the Ohio River to Evansville, Indiana. They then chose to settle at Mt. Carmel, Illinois, on the nearby Wabash River. They were accompanied from Pittsburgh by the Seitz brothers, William and Christian. Christian had married Elisabeth Schafer at Pittsburgh; and William later married Mary Schafer at Mt. Carmel. Q: R. K.
