Augusta Clinton eloped in 1788 with Henry Dawkins (1765-1852), the sonof a prominent Jamaica landholder, in 1788. Their first child, Henry, was born in November of that year. They eventually had six sons and fourdaughters and lived at Over Norton Park in Oxfordshire & at Encombe, Cheriton, Elham, Kent, where Augusta died aged 81 in 1849.
