Notes for this person
n German history, between 1848 to 1850, a revolution was taking place, which resulted in an increase in German immigration to America. This may have been the reason that Friedrich Wilhelm WATERHOELTERleft his parents and siblings, in Wissentrup, and traveled, alone, at the age of 14, on the ship GUSTAV, to the United States on June 13, 1849, arriving in the port of Baltimore. His ultimate destination was Washington, District of Columbia where he eventually married Jeannette Tone, (1856) and fathered Frederick William WATERHOLTER, (1857) and Emma WATERHOLTER, (1862).
