Eberhard Friedrich von Neipperg (1655–1725) wurde 1672 in den Reichsfreiherrenstand erhoben,
war ab 1689 Obervogt von Blaubeuren, war kaiserlicher Heerführer gegen die 1693 von Heidelberg auf Heilbronn
vorrückenden Franzosen, kämpfte später gegen die aufständischen Ungarn und wurde 1710 Festungskommandant von
Philippsburg. Er stand zudem in habsburgischen Diensten und wurde 1717 habsburgischer Generalfeldmarschall. Seit 1707
war er Direktor des Ritterkantons Kraichgau. Unter seiner Herrschaft wurde der Stammsitz der Familie von Neipperg ab
