He lived in Marion, Waupaca county, before his marriage, working as a "coat wright" whatever that may have been! Land Purchases: Shawano County Wisconsin Record Book Vol. 39, page 596. On 6 Feb. 1893 from Wilhemine Bomke Henry Welsch bought 40 acres of land. SE 1/4 of SE 1/4 of section 31, Township # 27, North of Range 14 East. For $350.00 paid in full.

Vol. 53, page 434. On Dec. 2, 1899 Henry and Auguste sold this parcel to Richard Meinhardt for $400.00.

Vol. 66 page 612. On March 24 1903 Richard and Augusta Meinhardt sold Henry for $300.00 the 40 acres back.

Vol. 66 page 618. Dec. 21, 1904 Henry and Auguste Welsch of Leopolis sold this 40 acres and the South 1/2 of lot # 5 and all of lots # 6, # 7, # 8, # 9 10, 11, 12, 13, all in block 41 Village of Leoplolis with all the buildings thereon to Emil Stunke of the Town of Seneca.
