Karl übernahm das Schaustellergeschäft seines Vaters. Da er sich immer wieder neue Geschäfte anschaffte, war er immer auf dem neuesten Stand der Technik und somit einer der ersten, die ihre Schaustellergeschäfte mit elektrischem Licht beleuchten konnte. Auch war er einer der ersten, die einen Kinomatographen besaßen. Ca. 1933, bei der Weltauststellung in Belgien, konnte er die Standmiete nicht mehr aufbringen und mußte seine Geschäfte verkaufen. Er ging nach Herzogenrath und war einige Jahre mit seinen Söhnen im bergbeu beschäftigt. Da er von stattlicher Statur war, fiel ihm die Arbeit unter Tage besonders schwer.
