Nach Verheiratung der beiden Töchter heiratete Karl Franz die Witwe eines Arztes Dr. Paul, die eine geb. Henriette Trölzsch, geb. 08.12.1812 war.
Karl Franz betätigte sich auch schriftstellerisch und veröffentlichte so manchen Leitartikel vaterländischen, pädagogischen und landwirtschaftlichen Charakters im Reichenbach-Anzeiger und zeichnete immer mit F.F.
Auch hat er eine Gedichtssammlung unter dem Namen "Feldblumen" ernsten und heiteren Inhalts herausgegeben
