Frederik Arnkiel, har en enkelt gang måtte betale en bøde, idet han i 1623 betalte en bøde på 1 rdl, for at have såret Åbenrås byfoged.
Han forlod hjemstavnen og tog til Norges sydligste provins,Brohuslen, hvor han i 1667 endte sine dage som borgmester i Kungselv (Kungälv).
Han blev, ligesom sin halvbror i Blekinge ,svensk undersåt efter Karl X Gustavs sejr over Danmark og Norge i 1658.
