Dort betreibt er, wie seinVater in Wildeshausen, eine Bar oder Wirtschaft (bar or tavern).

es erscheint plausibel, dass Johann August Conrad in Cincinnati seinen älteren Bruder Hermann Heinrich Wienert Poppe aufsucht, der offenbar schon vor ihm in die USA emigrierte und im Adressbuch 1890-91 von Cincinnati wie folgt aufgeführt wird:

Herman Poppe, occupation: saloon, location: 105 W. Liberty.

Das Kirchenbuch der katholischen Gemeinde St. Peter erwähnt den Tod dieses Bruders am 29.08.1899 in Cincinnati, OH.
