Johann Bartholomäus Hoßfeld ist seit 1670 Lehrer für die Jungen in Schenklengsfeld; aus beiden Ehen hat er insgesamt 16 Kinder.
Ein Bruder des Johann Bartholomäus, Johann Willibald Hoßfeld, ist Schuldiener in Breidenbach beim Herzberg. Er war 1650 als Sohn des Pfarrers Johann Hoßfeld in Brotterode (Thüringen) geboren und heiratet 1675 eine Tochter des hiesigen alten Pfarrers Caspar Molitor, nämlich Anna Martha Möller (=Molitor). Bei dieser Trauung wird der Name des Vaters der beiden Hoßfeld-Brüdergenannt: Ehren Johann Hoßfeld, Pfarrer zu Oechsen.
Ein Sohn des Ehepaares Barthel und Anna Margretha Hoßfeldt, Johannes Ernst, wird Schulmeister bei den mägdlein alhier in Schenklengsfeld, ist gestorben an der Schwindsucht am 07.11.1713. Sein Grabstein ist aufgestellt am kleinen Friedhofs-Museum, gleich links neben der Eingangstür. Die Familie hatte offenbar auch ein Familienwappen.
