War eine kluge Frau mit großem Wissen und viel Gewicht in der Familie. Wußte Rat in allen Lebenslagen, hatte das rechteGespür für die Landwirtrschaft, konnte krankes Vieh wieder gesund machen. Als einmal im Frühjahr ein Hagel alles Kornvernichtete und die anderen Bauern das Land umpflügten, riet sie, erst einmal abzuwarten, zumal es für eine zweite Saatzu spät war. Im Herbst gab es zwar nur kurzes Stroh, aber die Ähren schütteten. So gab es eine reiche Ernte. DieDorfbewohner meinten, die Pohlen wäre eine Hexe. In der Familie herrschte ein ganz besonderer Umgangston. Er warherzlich, frei und doch gesittet. Streit in der Familie war ein Fremdwort.
