Einige Notariats-Verträge, die im Stadtarchiv Duisburg und im Staatsarchiv Düsseldorf, Schloss Kalkum lagern, geben Auskunft über die Besitzverhältnisse der Bauernhöfe. So wird in einem Heiratsvertrag vom 7. 12. 1726 zwischen Henrich Butendorps, Sohn von den Eheleuten Hermann und Elisabeth Butendorp geborene Tergaten, und Trintgen Schmitz, Tochter der Eheleute Gerhard und Gretgen Schmits, in Ardorp, beschlossen, dass Sohn Henrich den Hof erben wird. Am 3. Januar 1755 erfolgt die Hofübergabe an Sohn Hermann und Schwiegertochter Anna geborene Deckers.
