Philipp Gottfried Geißel wurde von 1698 - 1700 nach Lambsborn berufen. Er war Doktor der Theologie und stammte von Hornbach als Sohn des dortigen Pfarrers Johann Peter Geißel. Er war von 1692 - 1698 Pfarrer in Waldfischbach, nach Lambsborn von 1700 - 1708 in Leinsweiler, 1708 - 1726 in Bischweiler, wo er auch starb. Seine Dissertation "Disputatio thelogica de rege salomone peccante" erschien in Basel 1697 im Druck. Zu kurz war seine Tätigkeit in der wieder errichteten Pfarrei Lambsborn, als daß diese tiefere Spuren dort hinterlassen hätte. "Der Plackereien müde, die sich mit dem Neuaufbau der Gemeinde ganz selbstverständlich ergaben, griff er bald wieder nach dem Wanderstab."
