Aus der Ehe gingen 5 Kinder hervor.
Von 1921 bis zu seinem Tod 1944 Bürgermeister des Amtes Echtz.
Also auch während der Nazizeit, was aber nicht bedeutete, daß er unbedingt deren Freund war, wie einige Überlieferungen berichten.
Die Verhaftung des jüdischen Metzgers Max Gordon in der Reichpogromnacht in Schlich, sowie die Hinrichtung von zwei polnischen Zwangsarbeitern im Jahr 1941 in Echtz konnte er allerdings nicht verhindern.
