KUEHL
Shortly before noon yesterday occurred thedeath of James Kuehl at h
is home in Gilbert, in the sixty-eighth year of hisage. Pneumonia was t
he cause of death.
The deceased was one of the oldest residents of Gilbert having made th
at eastern suburb his home since 1856. Hewas born Feb 5, 1829 in Brosbec
k, Propstei, Holstein, Germany, and came to this country in 1854, settli
ng in the town of Gilbert two years later. One year before coming he
re he was married to Miss Elizabeth Groth, who with six children surviv
es him. The children are Mrs. Mordhurst of Wheatland, Mrs. Hassof Dixo
n, Mrs. Moeller of Gilbert, Carl of Dixon, and Richard and George ofGilbe
rt. Two brothers also survive, P.N. of California and Henry of Gilbert.
The deceased was a member of the veterans of the Holstein war of 185
- Thefuneral will take place from his late residence on Friday afternoo
n, June 4th, at 2 o'clock. Interment will be at Pine Hill cemetery.
