Daniel Shipman was in the Volunteer Infantry in the Civil War.
She took care of Daniel Shipman when he came home from the War with

typhoid fever. Daniel, his wife and his infant son died from this

disease in 1863. The remaining children were raised by their uncle,

Davie Shipman (WFT 4:4160).
