Mr. Hipskind had been in failing health since August of 1954.A lifetime resident of Wabash, Mr. Hipskind was born here March 18, 1867 to John and Elizabeth (Miedreich) Hipskind. His marriage June 6, 1887, in the St. Peter's German Evangelical Church, Urbana, was to Mary Catherine Eiler. Mrs. Hipskind died March 23, 1947. The decedent, a retired self-employed drayman, was a member of the St. Matthew's United Church of Christ practically his entire life. He was a member of the Hanna Masonic Lodge. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. George E. (Estella) Wolf, North Manchester; a son, Walter Hipskind; eight grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. One son died in infancy. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Wire Funeral Home with the Rev. Arthur Heisler, pastor of the St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Urbana, officiating. Burial will be in the Falls Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m Saturday.
