TOD: WCF Courier, 02.12.2009 John J. Eschweiler (1924-2009) NEW HAMPTON - John Joseph Eschweiler, 85, of New Hampton, died at home Monday, Nov. 30. He was born Nov. 7, 1924, in New Hampton, son of John Conrad and Rose Margaret TeKippe. He married Violet Schmadeke on Nov. 19, 1946. She preceded him in death. He later married Alice Huffman on Oct. 9, 1965, at St. Joseph’s Parish, New Hampton. Mr. Eschweiler graduated from New Hampton High School and continued his education at Coyne Electrical School of Chicago. He was a businessman and owner of Eschweiler TV from 1971 until his retirement in 1986. Survived by:his wife; five sons, Steven (Deb) of Cedar Falls, David (Marlena) of Fort Wayne, Ind., Kevin (Anita) of New Hampton, Tim (Emily) of St. Paul, Minn., and Todd (Amy) of Johnston; two daughters, Sheryll (Jerry) Harambasic of Lynchburg, Va., and Jean (Scott) Roers of Eau Claire, Wis.; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandson; a brother, Merle Eschweiler of Portland, Ore.; and two sisters, Mila Mae Meyer of New Hampton and Bernadette “Sissie” Unterberger of Waukon. Preceded in death by: two brothers, Robert, and Francis in infancy; and an infant sister, Geraldine. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph Center, with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, both in New Hampton. Public visitation from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home, New Hampton, with a 6 p.m. Scripture service. Visitation also an hour before services Thursday at the church.
