Kathleen C. Demmer, 70, of Greeley, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at the Regional Medical Center, Manchester, after a lengthy illness. Kay, the daughter of Leo Joseph and Rose Loeffelholz Eilers, was born June 29, 1931, in Dubuque.
She married Loras H. Demmer on August 26, 1954, in Dyersville. They farmed near Ryan before moving to the Earlville area and have farmed near Greeley for the last 38 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Greeley.
Surviving her besides her husband, Loras, are two sons, Kevin (Doris) Demmer, of Dyersville, and Dan Demmer, of Fairfax; five grandchildren, Brian, Heidi, Nicole, Tara and Abby Demmer; a sister, Donna (Vince) Lux, of Ryan; a brother, Ambrose (Kay) Eilers, of Monticello; and a brother-in-law, Donald A. (Dora) Demmer, of Dyersville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister-in-law and a brother-in-law, Grace and John Gassman; her father-in-law and mother- in-law, August and Lena Demmer.
