"Den 18. May ist der hiesige Schiffer Carssen Remmers auf der Ems des Nachts um 1 Uhr über Bord gefallen und den 31. wiedergefunden, auf dem Kirchhofe zu Hamsweerdum im Amte Pewsum ehrlich begraben; nachdem aber die Witwe dieses vernommen, hat sie ihn wieder aus seiner Gruft holen, und ihn hierher remittieren lassen; worauf er den 9.Juni sogleich nach seiner Ankunft hieselbst begraben worden"
