She was born about November 1652 in Farmington. About 1675, Grace married John Blakesley, who was born about 1654 in New Haven, Connecticut. He was the son of Samuel Blakesley and Hannah Potter. That they were married is shown by the will of Moses, which names “daughter Grace, wife of John Blakeslee”. John and Gracehad nine children, but only four that lived to be adults. John made his will on March 7, 1713 and died in New Haven on March 12. He named his wife Grace, his sons John and Moses and his daughters MaryFord and (H)Anna Sperry. His estate amounted to 527 Pounds. Grace died before December 21, 1722, when a portion of her brother’s estate was distributed to her heirs. She must have been buried in New Haven Green, the original and only burying place for New Haven until 1797. Between 1797 and 1812, a few of those buried there were reintered in the Grove Street Cemetery, but most were left under the green and three churches were eventually built over the graves. Some of the gravestones were moved to the Grove Street location, most were destroyed or used for building, and some remain under the Center Church on the Green. No gravestone exists for Grace. Jeden Tag gaben Mitwirkende aus der ganzen Welt neue Datensätze ein, tausende verwendeten die Website als Bildungs-Nachschlagewerk, lange verlorengegblaubte Verwandte wurdenwiedergefunden und Millionen von Menschenleben bleiben in guter Erinnerung. In welcher anderen Art von Arbeit hätte Jim einer der letzten lebenden Munchkins getroffen, vort einer Versammlung von Grab-Enthusiasten in einem Hollywood-Mausoleum gesprochen und Schätze erworben, wie seinen antiken Sarg-Schraubendreher (nur zum Einschrauben)? |
