<p><p>Stanley: Not many remember that Malvina was a U.C. Graduate in English, and may have taught. I certainly remember her correcting my ending a sentnece with a preposition in a letter.</p></p><p><p>But everyone will remember that Mal was a stride pianist in the grand tradition and liked to rock her Mason & Hamlyn while the family sang along. She also installed on her piano a Hammond Solovox; a small organ which was the synthesizer of its day, and the first electronic keyboard I played.</p></p><p><p>Circa 1972 she invited me for a week's stay in L.A. Took me to the Getty and paid for myphilosophy-book shopping trip through on Hollywood Blvd. She dedicated my rare find of "The World as Will and Idea."//</p></p><p> </p>
