Graf v. Kennemerland u. Gent, er wurde mit der Küstenverteidigung gegen die Normannen betraut und mit Grafenrechten und mit Besitz dafür belohnt. 922 bekam er die Kirche zu Egmont mit ihren Gütern v. Karl dem Einfältigen als Geschenk. Dort gründete er eine Frauenabtei, die als Haus- und Begräbniskloster der Familie diente.
