<p>&nbsp</p><p><p>Norman Kienzle</p></p><p><p>Having said “Good-bye” to all of his family, Norman F. Kienzle, 71, passed away Nov. 26, 2007, at a Mandan care center. A service in celebration of Norman’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at First United Methodist Church, Bismarck, with the Revs. Kermit Culver and Walter Schott officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck, ND.</p><p><p>Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m to 9 p.m. Thursday, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m Thursday evening. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church Friday.</p><p><p>Norman was born May 26, 1936, in Eureka, SD. the son of Christian and Katharina (Lang) Kienzle. He graduated from Wishek High School in 1954 and from Capital Commercial College in 1955. Norman was enlisted in the North Dakota National Guard from 1953 to 1961. He married Norma J.Keator on Sept. 28, 1956. He began his career at Berg Bismarck Motor Supply in 1955 and later became owner, president and general manager. Norman retired in 1997, from Bergs. Norman and Norma havebeen “snowbirds” in Mesa, AZ, for 10 years. </p><p><p>He was very active in various committees at First United Methodist Church, served on the Advisory Board of BSC Auto Collision Department, wason the Board of Directors for Cornbelt Automotive Warehouse and was a member of the Automotive Northern Warehouse. Norman was also a long-time member of the Bismarck Elks Club. While wintering in Arizona, Norman and Norma were residents of “Good Life RV Resort”. He served in various board positions and enjoyed playing shuffleboard, which earned him many trophies to show his accomplishments.</p><p><p>Norman modeled a life of compassion and was a role model for his family. He loved and cherished family time with his children, grandchildren and grreat-grandchildren. He was always willingand ready for a game of some sort. He loved bowling, playing cards and watching his grandchildren’s activities. He met a friend any place he went and enjoyed many conversations.</p><p><p>He willbe remembered as a loving husband and a kind and gentle father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by family and friends throughout the United States and Canada.</p><p><p>Norman is survived by his wife, Norma, Bismarck; his children, Cindra (Don) Fischer, Bismarck, Tamra (Clay) Volz, Mesa, and Dirk (Holly) Kienzle, Bismarck; nine grandchildren, Christopher Silbernagel, Bismarck, Rebecca (Stuart) Savelkoul, Dickinson, Brent Fischer, Bismarck, Kathryn (Kenneth) Hughes, David and Kelsey Volz, all of Mesa, and Jake and Jana Kienzle, Bismarck; three great-grandchildren, Adam and Andrew Silbernagel and Connor Hughes; one step-grandchild, Joshua Dutton, Rochester, MN; and one sister-in-law, Jeanette Kienzle, Wishek, ND.</p><p><p>He was preceded in death by his parents, Christian and Katharina Kienzle; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Israel and Ruth Keator; one daughter, Debra Silbernagel; and one grandchild, Jesse Silbernagel.</p><p><p>On behalf of Norman, thank you to everyone who expressed your thoughts andf prayers for him during his 8 month battle with cancer. Thank you to the doctors and staff at Banner Baywood in Mesa, Medcenter One and Medcenter One Care Center in Mandan.
