Der deutsche Theologe, Pädagoge, Schriftsteller, Bildungspolitiker und Direktor der Franckeschen Stiftungen in Halle (Saale), August Hermann Niemeyer (1754–1828), Pate seines ältesten Bruders, derwenige Wochen nach seiner Geburt verstarb, war Eduards Großonkel.
