Auf Initiative von Oscar König, Sohn des Kronen"-Besitzers Johann Georg König, wurde im Jahr 1900 als Anbau der Neorenaissance-Hoteltrakt gebaut. Nach dem Tod des Vaters wurde Sohn Oscar König 1904 Besitzer der Krone". Erverkaufte 1906 Hotel und Gastwirtschaft und gründete zusammen mit Fritz Weber ein selbständiges Bankgeschäft im dafür gebauten Haus in der Bahnhofstraße, heute das dortige AOK-Gebäude.
