Helen Vennemann, her sisters and their de Buys cousins moved to Los Angeles in the early 1900s from New Orleans, Louisiana. Carl Malmgren and his sisters, who had been born in Nebraska andlived in Houston, Texas also moved to Los Angeles about 1904. Helen Patronella Vennemann ~ June 20, 1917:

Helen posing her in her wedding dress on the occasion of her marriage to Carl Henry Malmgren. Helen was born September 19, 1883 in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was the seventh of eight children of Eulalie Mercier and Hermann Vennemann. She was the mother of Helen Augusta Malmgren and John Henry Malmgren and Grandmére to 11.
