TOD: "OBIT" - Sister Mary Christina - from Agnes Birringer, 6/91 Sister Mary Christina, 81, the former Marie Lemberger, daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Wolfgang Lemberger of Cato, died early Monday at the Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services, in charge of the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, will be held at 8 a.m. Wednesday at the Holy Family Convent, Silver Lake. The Rev. D F Hurley will officiate and burial will be in the convent cemetery. Sister Christina was born in Cato in 1871 and at the age of 14 years entered the convent. Four years ago she observed her diamond jubilee. Survivors are a brother, Joseph Lemberger of Cato; two sisters, Sister Elizabeth of Seymour, Wis., and Mrs Joseph Buchner of Manitowoc. *************************** E-mail from Sr Cathrine Gilles - 3/28/01 Bob, our Motherhouse (Holy Family Convent) is located right on Silver Lake -- the one in Manitowoc County. Sr. Christina is buried in the cemetery right on our convent property. For many years she had a greenhouse at the Motherhouse and supplied all the plants for chapel and whatever other uses. Today that room is a large lounge, appropriately named "Christina Lounge."
