MRS. ANNA SCHWEIR

Mrs. Anna Schweir, nee Pageler, was born April 15, 1876, in the Wells Creek community. She passed out of this life shortly after midnight last Wednesday morning, March 24, at the age of 77 years, 11 months and 9 days.

Mrs. Schweir grew to a young womanhood in the Wells Creek community where her parents farmed. She was baptized into the Christian Faith in infancy and later confirmed the baptismal vows in Immanuel Church on wells Creek, where she was a member for many years.

She was united in marriage to Mrs. John Schweir on June 22, 1893 and they settled on a farm on Wells Creek where they lived until 1924. For the next 12 years they farmed a few miles east of Wamego. From 1936 until the death of Mr. Schweir in 1941, they lived in Alma.

Mr. and Mrs. Schweir transferred their membership from Immanuel Church to Peace church, Alma when they went to Alma to make their home, and Mrs. Schweir had been a member there ever since.

after the death of her husband, Mrs. Schweir lived in Topeka for a time but had make her home in Wamego since 1943.

She gained many friends during the years of her life. She was a considerate neighbor, a good wife and mother and was highly regarded by all who knew her.

She suffered a stroke on February 13 and had been confined to her bed ever since.

She leaves to mourn her passing her four daughters, Mrs. John Hasenbank, of Wamego, Mrs. John bark, Of Rock Island, IL, Mrs. Henry Martens of Wabaunsee and Mrs. George Armbrust of Wamego; two sons, Henry Schweir, of Alma, and John Schweir of Oklahoma City, OK. One son preceded her in death.

She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Margareta Jung, of Wamego; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Anna Pageler of Roselle, IL; two brothers-in-law, Gus Sauer, Of McFarland, and J.P. Maas of Davenport, IA; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren besides other relatives and her many friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Schweir were held from the Hasenbank and LaMar funeral Home and Peach Evangelical and Reformed church at Alma, under the direction of Hasenbank and LaMar, with the Rev. Paul W. Kasper conducting the services, March 27. Six grandsons were pallbearers, Ervin Hasenbank, Arnold Hasenbank, Harold Armbrust, Dale Bark, LeRoy Schweir and John Martens.

She was laid to rest in the Peace church cemetery beside her husband.
