He was born on the 30th of December 1799 in the village Bockhorn in the Sulingen parish in Lower Saxony in Germany. His parents were Anton Friedrich and Ilse Margarete Mohrmann. (F1)

He lived in cottage No. 5 in Coldewey. Coldewey is also a village in the Sulingen parish. He lived there whilst the censuses were taken in 1842, 1845 and 1848. Whilst the 1855 census was taken, his family shared the house with a unmarried woman named Marie Lubbus (born 1819) and her two children named Heinrich (born 1845) and Wilhelm (born 1848). (F11)

Death:
He died at 3.30 p.m. on the 6th of January 1871 in Coldewey. He was 71 years old. He was buried four days later in the cemetery in Sulingen. (F1)
