He was probably born in the Leeste parish near Syke in Lower Saxony in Germany about 1760. The names of his parents are not known. (E1)
Leeste is now a part of the town Weyhe.
Possibly he was from the village Erichshoff in the Leeste parish. His first son was born there.

He is recorded in the list of cottagers in Leeste from 1795 to 1818. He probably moved to Leeste in 1794. He paid taxes from 1795 to 1815. From 1816 until 1818 he was too poor to pay taxes. (From the document "Hann. Syke Nr. 723" in the civic archive in Hannover).
In 1801 he was sharing a cottage on Johann Bollmann's farm in Leeste. Johann Bollmann was a "3/4 Meyer". On his farm was a farm house, sheds and two cottages. Five “Haeusler” families lived in the two cottages. Hinrich Hollwedel's family was one of them. (According to the document "Hann. Syke Nr. 50" in the civic archive of Hannover).
In the 1787 “Brandkataster”, Johann Bollmann’s farm was Leeste No. 2. (document “Dep. 106 Nr. 1270” in the civic archive in Hannover).
Marriage:
He was married with Adelheid Landsberg. The wedding was probably held about 1789. (E1)
They raised a family in the Leeste parish. They probably lived in Erichshoff. (E1)
Death:
He died of old age on the 25th of February 1832 in the Leeste parish. He was 72 years old. He was buried in the cemetery in Leeste three days later. (E1)
Other Information:
1. The church registers dated between 1756 and 1792 of the Lutheran church in Leeste were destroyed in a fire.
2. Hinrich Hollwedel did not get baptised in the Leeste church in the period of 1752 to 1756 inclusive.
3. He did not marry again in the Leeste parish after his wife's death.
