He was born on the 10th of November 1757 in the town Syke in Lower Saxony in Germany. His parents were Hinrich and Mettie Speketer. (E4)
In 1910 Syke had 2245 inhabitants. Then it had a post office, government administration offices, a court, a registry, a taxation office, several bank branches, a rangers station, a Lutheran church, a synagogue, a technical school, a power station, livestock and general markets, an engine factory, a dairy, flour mills and a brick yard. He was living in a house in Erichshoff in 1787 (from the “Brandkataster” in document “Dep. 106 Nr. 1270” in the civic archive of Hannover)
In 1801 he was an "Erbzinsmann" in the village Erichshoff. A cottager, Mrs. Toen, was sharing his house then. Erichshoff is in the Leeste parish. (from document "Hann. Syke Nr. 50" in the civic archive in Hannover)
Marriage:
He married Gesche Schierenbeck from the nearby village Kirchweyhe on the 21st of November 1785 in the Lutheran church in Kirchweyhe. (E3)
They lived in Kirchweyhe for about six years. (E3)
Then they moved to the nearby village Erichshoff in the Leeste parish and raised their family there. (E1)
Kirchweyhe, Leeste and Erichshoff are now parts of the town Weyhe.
Death:
He died in the Leeste parish on the 6th of May 1813. He was 55 years old. He was buried in the cemetery there. (E1)
