They inherited farm No. 64 (1852 “Brandkataster”/census No.) in Leeste. During the 1852, 1855, 1858 and 1861 censuses they were living there. During 1852 and 1855 censuses the Kastens family lived in the main farm house on their own. During the 1858 census the Kastens family shared the main farm house with the cottager Johann Hinrich Mohrmann and his family. There were 12 people living in the house then. During the 1861 census another family was sharing the main farm house with the Kastens family. The cottage that belonged to the farm was used by a family consisting of six people. (E2)
