Henry Gustav PLAGGE

Henry G. Plagge, 71, of 826 S. Franklin, died Sunday at his home. He had been in failing health the past year. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Ulm, with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Agnes; sons Lowell of Young America, Glen, Jerome and Donald, all of New Ulm; daughters Mrs. Bernice Kirchoff and Mrs. Allan (Rachael) Stelljes, both of New Ulm, Mrs. Thomas(Ruth) Hoff of Afton, Mrs. Thomas (Gretchen). Penne of Apple Valley; 24 grandchildren; brother Walter of Gibbon; and sisters Mrs. Merton (Anna) Steinbach of La Mesa, Calif, Mrs. Wallace (Marie) Carlson of Lafayette and Dorothy Plagge of New Ulm. He was born July 19, 1919, in Cairo Township, Renville County, to Albert and Louisa (Renner) Plagge. He married Agnes Fiene on April 1, 1934, in Echo. After, their marriage they lived in Bernadotte Township for two years, then at Fairfax. They moved to New Ulm in 1936. He was a letter carrier for the U. S. Post Office in New Ulm for 33 years, retiring in 1969. He was a member of the Brown County Poultry and Pigeon Association, and a charter member of the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran School.
