For many years he lived in Finsbury Road and was a regularworshipper at St.Lukes Church where he was a sidesman. \par Councillor Home was elected to Ramsgate Town Council as a representativeof Sir Moses Montifiore Ward in November 1924 when he defeatedMr.F.C.Llewellyn Chairman of the Sands and Entertainment Committee by1513 votes to 910. The election was influenced by feeling aroused overthe engagement of an orchestra conducted by Maurice Warm. \par At the time of his death Mr.Home was a member of the Contracts, Housing,and Town Planning, Parks and Open Spaces and Rating and ValuationCommittees. \par Owing to ill health Mr.Home had attended few meetings of the Councilduring the past year but previously was a regular attendant at themonthly meetings at Albion House. Although not an accomplished debater healways made sure of getting his point home and was probably ruled out oforder more times than any other member during his day. He took allrebuffs in good part however and often provided the only light relief tootherwise tedious proceedings. The fact that he was a popular figure inthe ward the largest in the town defended prospective candidates fromchallenging Councillor Homes return and he was re-elected on 3 occasions. \par Mourners:- Widow, P.Home (brother), Mr.& Mrs.H.Home (son & wife), Mr.&Mrs. D.Home (son & wife), Mr.& Mrs.F.Home (son & wife) Mr.& Mrs.J.Wright(daughter and husband), Mr.& Mrs.Boxall (daughter & husband), Mrs.P.Home(sister in law), Misses J.& M.Butler (sisters in law), Messrs.A.& R.Home(nephews) and Mr.J.Darby (list of councillors and floral tributesfollowed)}
