Clarence L. Trout, 42, whose farm home is near Union, Michigan, died at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, 1942, in the Elkhart General Hospital, Indiana, following a sinus operation. He was admitted to the hospital one week before. Mr. Trout was born in Cass County, Michigan, on April 29, 1900, and had lived at his last home 22 years. His marriage to Wilma P. Boyer took place in Cassopolis, Mich., on Feb. 15, 1922. She survives him with his parents W. Harvey and Julia O. (Nutting) Trout, who live near Union; three daughters, Mrs. Leonard E. (Velma L.) Stults of Elkhart, and Mary L. and Ruth E. at home; a son Clare E., also at home; a grandson; a brother Claude H. Trout of Union, and four sisters, Mrs. Carl R. (Florence M.) McMurray of Elkhart, Mrs. Darcy T. (Eunice L.) Barnes and Mrs. Stanley D. (Clemence M.) Cleveland, both of Detroit, and Mrs. Clyde G. (J. Marguerite) Harmon of Cassopolis. Mr. Trout was a farmer and lifelong resident of the Union area. He was of German (Pennsylvania Dutch) and colonial English descent, with ancestry dating back to the Mayflower. The body will be at the Geisler mortuary, Constantine, Mich., until Tuesday evening. The service will be conducted at the Trout home at 2 p.m. (EDT) Wednesday by the Rev. Wayne Paulen of the Methodist church at LaGrange township. Burial will be in the East Union Cemetery. Per death certificate 32732, Clarence Llewellyn Trout, son of Harvey and Julia Nutting Trout, married Wilma Boyer, lived at RFD 1 Bristol, Ind., was a farmer, died in Elkhart General Hospital, Elkhart, Ind., of osteomyelitis of right frontal lobe, acute right frontal sinusitis. The informant was his wife, and he was buried Dec 2, 1942. Mr. Trout is a Mayflower Descendant of Richard Warren (an 8th great-grandson), and a distant cousin of Presidents Ulysses S. Grant and Franklin D. Roosevelt.
