countyand then to Caswell county, NC and then to the Greenville
District of SC. Manyof their descendents still live in the Greenville,
SC area.
2. John was a private in the American Revolution; he enlisted and served
from Caswell co., NC.(DAR Index I:87).

paid to the militia of NC, VA and SC, as allowed by the auditorsof
Hillsborough Dist. in Dec. 1781, Report No. 81, Name: John Brockman,
number of vouchers 158, amount 2,500 pounds currency.
3. He received a 500 acre land grant on the Little Wolf Island Creek in NC
on 13 Oct 1783 (WFT 8:420).
4.He had a land grant for 516 acres in District 96, SC (OCVF IV:127).
5. The Clear Springs Cemetery is close to Simpsonville in Greenville co.,
SC.
6. His will was proven 13 Feb 1801.
