Rites at Wausau for Mrs. Stanley Berlik
Funeral services were held at St. James church in Wausau on Monday for Mrs. Stanley Berlik, 74, Schofield, a former Wisconsin Rapids resident, who died Thursday morning at St. Mary's hospital following a heart attack. The Rev. Vincent Schwartz officiated and interment was in St. Michael's cemetery there.
Mrs. Berlik, the former Mary Wayerski, was born in Germany on June 5, 1875, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Wayerski, and was married at Junction City in 1890 to Stanley Berlik, who survives.
Also surviving are 13 daughters, Mrs. Helen Lassa, Wisconsin Rapids; Mrs. Henry Eisenman, Spokane, Wash.; Mrs. Henry Lemmer, Schofield; Mrs. Anthony Wutt, West Allis; Mrs. Ray Eichorn, Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. Charles Becker and Mrs. H. E. DesJardin, Albuquerque, N.M.; Mrs. William O. Anklam, Wausau; Mrs. Elmer DeWan, Antigo; Mrs. Ray Nontelle, La Crosse; Mrs. Stanley Bruske, Milwaukee; Mrs. Raymond Peck, Stevens Point, and Miss Ellen Jane Berlik, Appleton; three sons, Leonard, Barrington, IL; Joseph, Rothschild, and Stanley, Trout Dale, Ore.; one sister, Mrs. William Wilke, Nekoosa; a half sister, Mrs. Leo Borski, Junction City; 46 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

OBITUARY - Mrs. Stanley Berlik
Mrs. Stanley Berlik, 74, Schofield, a former Portage County resident and mother of 13 daughters and three sons, some of whom have resided in Stevens Point, died suddenly on June 28 at St. Mary's hospital, Wausau.
Mrs. Berlik was the mother of Mrs. Ray Peck, 548 Normal Avenue, and Mrs. H. E. DesJardin of Albuquerque, N.M., Mrs. William O. Anklam of Wausau and Mrs. Ellen Jane Berlik of Appleton, all former Stevens Point residents. The other surviving children are Mrs. Helen Lassa of Wisconsin Rapids, Mrs. Henry Eisenmann of Spokane, Wash., Mrs. Henry Lemmer of Schofield, Mrs. Anthony Wutt of West Allis, Mrs. Ray Eichhorn of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Charles Becker of Albuquerque, Mrs. Elmer DeWan of Antigo, Mrs. Ray Nontelle of LaCrosse, Mrs. Stanley Briske of Milwaukee, Leonard Berlik of Barrington, IL, Joseph of Rothchild, and Stanly of Trout Dale, Ore.
The 16 children and their families were all present for the funeral which was held at St. James Catholic church in Wausau last Monday morning. Rev. Vincent Schwartz officiated and burial followed in St. Michael's cemetery.
Mrs. Berlik, whose maiden name was Mary Wayerski, was born in Germany on June 5, 1875, and came to this country as a child. She lived in Chicago with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. John Wayerski, before coming to Portage County during her early girlhood. Before her marriage, Mrs. Berlik was employed at the Curran House, an early day Stevens Point hotel. She married Mr. Berlik in 1890 in Junction City. After their marriage the couple lived in Central Wisconsin most of the time, spending the past 40 years in Wausau and Schofield.
Besides the children, she is survived by her husband, a sister, Mrs. William Wilke of Nekoosa, a half-sister, Mrs. Leo Borski of Junction City, 46 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Berlik's death followed a short illness. She suffered a heart attack on Tuesday noon, June 21, and was removed to the hospital.
