Notes for this person
On September 16th at 5:30 in the evening Mr. William Venghaus was called away from his labours. Having been born in Frelsburg on December 10, 1859, he lived in Colorado County all his life. Here he married Miss Augusta Sommerlatte some fifty-nine years ago. Here he purchased a farm in more recent years. Here also he raised the children that mourn his death. The are: Mrs. A. H. Kramer of Victoria, Mrs. Oswald Kretzschmar of Mentz, Mrs. Walter Henicke of Mentz, Miss Marie Venghaus of Mentz and A. G. Venghaus of Garwood. He is survived also by four brothers, Ed. Henry, Fred and Reinhold, the latter two living in or near Columbus and two sisters Mrs. Ida George and Mrs. Henry Moebus. Interment was made in Odd Fellows’ Rest, September 18th, the pastor of the local Lutheran Church officiating. Colorado County Citizen, September 18, 1930
