Birth: Nov. 23, 1886 Frelsburg Colorado County Texas, USA Death: Jan. 4, 1972 Rock Island (Colorado County) Colorado County Texas, USA August John Edward Venghaus, was the son of Hermann Heinrich "Henry" Venghaus and Mary Augusta Sommerlatte Venghaus. He married Adeline Elisa Christine Kramer on Oct. 10, 1907. He was the father of four children. Burial: Lakeside Cemetery Eagle Lake Colorado County Texas, USA Venghaus, August John August J. Venghaus, born November 23, 1888 near Frelsburg, died January 4 after a ten day illness. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon from the Mill-Bauer Fuberal Home, Eagle Lake, with the Rev. Selma Burger conducting the services. Interment was in Lakeside Cemetery, Eagle Lake. Mr. Venghaus had lived in Rock Island for 4 1/2 years. He is survived by three daughters, Miss Alpha Venghaus, who resided with him at the family home, Mrs Idell Nash of Jackson, Miss, Mrs Cleo Teel of Highland; one son Alvester Venghaus of Alta Loma and 8 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. -- Colorado County Citizen, January 13, 1972, Contributed by Terry Jackson
