1920 census indicates her father was born in Bavaria, and her mother was born in California. Buried in lot 3, block 35, 2nd grave. Died at Dexheimer Nursing Home in Taylorville, Illinois. Rev. Erwin J. Pratt officiated her funeral. Source - her obituary. Obituary: Rochester - Mrs. Mabel Josephine Ratz, 65, of Rochester, died at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday at the Dexheimer Nursing Home, Taylorville. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Wilson Park Funeral Home, Rochester. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Buckhart. Surviving are one son, Robert of Rochester; one daughter, Mrs. O. D. Lemley of Grass Valley, Ore.; one brother, Frank A. Smith of Detroit, Mich., three sisters, Mrs. Roy Drillinger of Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Anna S. Yates of Normal and Mrs. Beryl Neu of Kincaid and two grandchildren. She was a member of the Rochester Methodist Church, Rochester Woman's Club, Buckhart Community Club and Cooper Township Home Bureau Unit and was active in Red Cross.
