Robert de Umfreville, 9th Earl of Angus was born before 1277.1 He was the son of Gilbert de Umfreville, 8th Earl of Angus and Elizabeth Comyn.1 He married, firstly, Lucy de Kyme, daughter of Sir Philip de Kyme, 1st Lord Kyme and Joan le Bigod.1 He married, secondly, Alienor.1 He died in Mar 1325.1 He was buried in Abbey of Newminster.1 Robert de Umfreville, 9th Earl of Angus succeeded to the title of 2nd Lord Umfreville [E., 1295] circa Oct 1307.1 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Earl of Angus [E., 1283] circa Oct 1307.1 He succeeded to the title of 9th Earl of Angus [S., c. 1115] circa Oct 1307.1 He held the office of Joint King's Lieutenant and Keeper in Scotland on 21 Jun 1308.1 He held the office of Joint Guardian between Berwick and the Forth on 16 August 1308.1 He was a Commissioner to treat with the Scots on 14 Nov 1308.1 He was a Commissioner to treat with the Scots on 16 Feb 1309/10.1 He was a Commissioner to treat with the Scots on 22 Feb 1315/16.1 He was a Commissioner to treat with the Scots on 18 Mar 1317/18.1
