Wagner, County Civic Leader, Dead Former Public Official for Years Dies In Hospital; Rites In Forest Church Henry J. Wagner, 82 well known, Town of Forest father and a former clerkof the circuit court and county board churchman, died at 9:30 a.m. todayat St. Agnes Hospital following a months illness. Native of the Town of Empire, he was born Sept. 20, 1877. His parentswere Jacob and Elizabeth Seibel Wagner. He was married April 10, 1901,to Miss Ida Krug. Mr. Wagner spent most of his life in the Town ofForest, FDL, WI A civic leader for many years, Mr. Wagner served as clerkof circuit court from 1916-17 and was on the county borad from April,1926, through May, 1933, acting as its chairman from 1923-33. He was amember of the draft board during World War II. Mr. Wagner was active formany years in the Holstein-Friesian association. He was a member of St.Pauls Lutheran Church, Town of Forest. Surviving are his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Wilbur Moersch, of Malone; ason, Edward Wagner of the Town of Forest, with whom he and Mrs. Wagnerlived; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a brother GeorgeWagner of Sheboygan. He was preceded in death by two sons and a daughter. Friends may call at the Candlish chapel after 2 p.m. Thursday until 10:30a.m. Friday when the body of Mr. Wagner will be taken to St. PaulsLutheran church to lie in state until 2 p.m. funeral services. The Rev.Oscar Siegler will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery, Town ofForest, FDL, WI.
